Sharen Martinson's acrylic pet portrait paintings are crafted slowly and with intention as she honors your animal by capturing their heartfelt likeness. Instead of an exact whisker to whisker photo replica Sharen uses her intuitive guidance to present a good likeness that also reveals their soulful essence. Each painting is a quiet tribute to the love and companionship your animal provides.

Commissioning a Pet Portrait Painting

If your heart feels called to have a custom pet portrait painting created, and you live in the southeast Iowa area, Sharen would be honored to bring your vision to life. Each commission is based on a donation amount agreed upon before the painting begins.  For a 12" x 12" canvas with one animal the suggested amount is $200, going up from there depending on canvas size and number of animals.  Sharen requests a deposit of $50 to begin your painting plus pictures of your animal.

She will confer with you as to the exact pose, background color and canvas size you wish.  When finished, Sharen will send a digital copy for your approval.  Once approved and the agreed-upon gift donation received, Sharen will arrange pick up in her local area of Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, Iowa.
